About
us ...
Founded in 1953 by
Edward "Ted" Coyne and Bill Selden, New Way Equipment
began with ventilation systems in barns and quickly expanded into
the plumbing and heating business. Ted purchased Mr. Selden's
portion of the business in 1955 and flourished as a plumbing,
heating and electrical contractor. In 1961 Ted decided to install
an in-ground pool at his Genesee Street home; later that year
he built a pool for a friend and the swimming pool business started.
Swimming pool chemicals and supplies were a natural addition to
the company's product offering.
In 1975 Ted bought
the 8,000 square foot Agway building and moved it one-half mile
down the road to where the store stands today. There are currently
12 buildings on this site as well as the 5 Arch Self Storage Center.
The Coyne family currently operates as a true family business
with three generations working together every day.
